Learn to become a Clinical Medical Assistant and work across the domain of health care facilities to aid inpatient treatments and clinical operations
The Clinical Medical Assistant combines 160-hours of classroom training. Additionally, students will continue their training through the completion of a 160-hour externship. Graduates will be prepared for employment as professional medical assistants dedicated to patient care management and are equipped to assist physicians with examinations and treatments, take medical histories, perform diagnostic tests, expose X-ray films, sterilize instruments and supplies, assist with minor surgery and administer medications.
The program goal is to prepare competent entry-level medical assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. Graduates will receive certificates of completion. This course includes national certification exam for Medical Assistant (CCMA) through National Healthcareer Association.
